Freddy’s Pizza in west suburban Cicero featured on the “It’s Not So Late Show”

The spectacular success of Freddy’s Pizzeria is discussed by owner Joe Quercia who immigrated from Naples, Italy in 1968 and attended Morton East High School when he started working at the restaurant’s previous location.

Quercia, who runs the popular bakery at 16th Street and 61st Avenue with his wife Ann Marie, put together enough money after 5 years in America using his savings and loans from relatives to buy the restaurant and expand the menu.

Joe explains to the “It’s Not So Late Show” host Aaron Hanania that he wanted to create a casual bakery where he would focus on great tasting food items, later adding Gelatos which in the 1970’s were popular in Italy more so than in America.
