Orland Fire District hosts CERT Training for district residents on Oct. 7, 2019
The Orland Fire District is hosting a new Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) class starting October 7th, 2019.
The classes will be held 8 consecutive Mondays from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm each evening. The classes are held at the Orland Fire District Administration building located at 9790 W. 15st Street. The class is limited to District residents. The minimum age to participate is 18 years of age.
This will be the 6th CERT class that the Orland Fire District will be holding. The District currently has more than 52 active community members and is looking to add additional volunteers to assist the District during emergencies such as disasters and weather-related emergencies. This is a way that residents can give back to their community. Experience is not necessary! You will be provided with the training needed to become an Orland CERT team member.
Some of the training provided includes: safely extinguishing fires in the event of an emergency, first aid, CPR, bleeding control, assisting family and neighbors with navigating emergencies, organizing and operating search and rescue duties, coordinating and working with first responders during community emergencies, and more.
Submit completed applications to the Orland Fire Protection District (9790 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL 60462) Monday thru Friday from 8am to 4:30pm.
If you have any questions or are looking for additional information on CERT, call (708) 349-0074.
