Orland Fire hosts meeting on importance of “Homecare” for seniors

Aishling Dalton of Aishling Companion Homecare will be the special guest at the next “Coffee & Conversation” held by the Orland Fire Protection District.

The Fire District hosts the free “Coffee & Conversations” programs each month to educate residents on services related to healthcare, emergency care and fire safety.

Orland Fire Public Education coordinator Elizabeth “Betsy” Dine said that the sessions are very important especially to seniors and to families that have members who are disabled and in need.

“At each meeting, we explore a different aspect of issues that our residents face,” said Dine, who coordinates many of the district’s special events and programs.

“The priority is to help people in need and to educate the community about safety related issues, health related care and fire safety. We see these circumstances all the time in responding to emergency situations and we feel that we can help educate the public about options they have.”

The two-hour “Coffee & Conversations” program is held each month and sponsored by the Orland Fire Protection District, the Senior Advisory Council and Aishling Home care. The next meeting is on Thursday April 26, 2018 beginning at 9 am. The meetings are held at the Fire District’s Administration Building at 9790 W. 151st Street.
