Breaking: Fatality in accident on 87th Street in Bridgeview
An accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the 87th Street Bridge between Oketo Avenue (about 7400 West) and 78th Avenue (7800 West) has closed off the street to all traffic, Bridgeview Police announced.
The pedestrian (either walking or on a bicycle – it hasn’t been determined) has been pronounced deceased.
The victim of the accident was identified on Wednesday as Stanislaw M. Lukaszczyk, white, 57. Last known address was 7947 W. 89th Place Hickory Hills. His next of kin, son, has been notified, according to Bridgeview Police Chief Ricardo Mancha.
The accident occurred around 6:50 pm on Tuesday Dec. 12, 2017.
Police said they closed the street to traffic for at least four hours while the investigation into the details of the accident was conducted.
