Leving Team Recovered Missing Boy in Distant State
By Laura Reichel
A desperate dad called Attorney Jeffery M. Leving in a panic because his son was missing. Dad was terrified that he would never see his son again.
It was alleged that the young boy had been whisked out of Illinois, and taken to an unknown location where the mother was living with her boyfriend who had reportedly been abusive to her.
Dad was horrified – he had no idea where his son was and he feared his son was being abused by the mother’s boyfriend

The Leving team assured dad that they would fight for his son and that he had come to the right place for help. Dad was so afraid of losing his son forever and so terrified that his son was being abused that he didn’t know which way to turn. Luckily, he turned to the Leving team for the hope he desperately needed to locate and fight for his son.
The first and very significant hurdle the Leving team faced was locating the child’s whereabouts. It was reported that the mother actively concealed the child and that a third party was hiding her and the boy in another state. The Leving firm’s investigative work was critical in overcoming this hurdle. They found them in Texas and coordinated with local law enforcement serving the mother with process.
However, the fight didn’t end then. It started. Despite being served with process, the mother reportedly refused to return the child to Illinois and aggressively fought the Motion for Return of the Child to dad. She also was reported to have failed to comply with the investigative discovery requests. In the face of the mother’s alleged legal stonewalling, the Leving team went to court and, over the mother’s strong objections, obtained a Court Order securing her compliance with discovery requests.
The Leving team proceeded to a highly contested hearing on whether the child should stay in Texas or be returned to his home with dad. Though it was a tough hearing, the Leving team strategically presented witnesses and other evidence supporting dad’s position. Despite the mother’s reported tactics of concealment and delay, and after a very long period of active litigation, the court ruled in dad’s favor – granting the motion and ordering the child to be returned to dad in Illinois. They won.
This was a powerful court victory modified for publication. The Leving team recovered dad’s son against all odds and secured a court order to bring dad’s son back home. If dad had not turned to the Leving team, it’s very likely he would never have seen his son ever again. Failure was not an option. The Leving team was able to achieve what dad so desperately sought: bringing his son back home.
