Getty Celebrates Successful Re-Election and Local Victory Sweep

Voters in the Village of Lyons and across Lyons Township sent a strong message of confidence and support on April 1st, re-electing Mayor Chris Getty and many other public officials in a sweeping election victory.

Mayor Getty, who also serves as Lyons Township Supervisor, expressed his gratitude and pride in the outcome, which saw wins across the board for candidates in the Village of Lyons, Lyons Township, and local school and library boards.

“I’m incredibly honored to continue serving as both Mayor of Lyons and Supervisor of Lyons Township,” Getty said.

“These results show that our residents believe in the direction we’re headed—and I’m proud of the work we’ve done to earn that trust.”

Getty highlighted the coordinated efforts made by village and township officials to engage with the public, “We’ve listened to our residents, addressed their concerns, and remained transparent and accountable. This victory reflects their confidence in our shared vision for the future,” he said.

Alongside Getty’s re-election, Village Clerk Irma Quintero and Village Trustees Paul Marchiori, Teresa Echeverria, and Dan Hilker were all re-elected to continue their service to the Village of Lyons.

In Lyons Township, Getty headed a slate of diverse candidates including, Clerk Elyse Hoffenberg of LaGrange, Assessor Patrick Hynes of Western Springs, and Highway Commissioner Terry Carr of McCook were elected. Two of the four Township Trustee seats were secured by incumbents Mark Anderson of Lyons and Dave Imielski of La Grange, alongside newcomers to the board, Miriam Cruz of Summit and Candice Mares of Countryside.

“I look forward to working with the team and bringing new energy and vision to the highway department,” said newly elected Highway Commissioner Terry Carr.

In the local school board elections, Mario Ramirez, Slagjana Aleksiki, and Sara Andreas were re-elected to the Lyons Elementary School District 103 Board of Trustees. For Lyons Township High School District 204, voters elected Gioia Giannotti Frye, Elias Lopez, Christine Kozelka Campbell, and Shawn Kennedy to four-year terms. The Lyons Public Library Board welcomed two new trustees—first-time candidates Iris Quintero and Joseph Valadez—who ran unopposed.

“I’m proud to serve alongside such a dedicated and passionate group of public servants,” Getty added. “Together, we’ll continue building on the progress we’ve made, always putting our residents first.”

In addition, several other municipal leaders throughout Lyons Township were also re-elected to office. These included Mayor Sergio Rodriguez of Summit, Village President Melissa Neddermeyer of Willow Springs, Mayor Mark Kuchler of La Grange, Mayor Michael Garvey of Brookfield, Mayor Kris Wasowicz of Justice, and Mayor Terry Carr of McCook.
