Lopez and O’Shea endorse Vallas in Chicago mayor race

Aldermen Raymond Lopez and Matt O’Shea endorse Paul Vallas for mayor against Brandon Johnson

Alderman Ray Lopez (15th) is announcing his endorsement this evening for Paul Vallas for Mayor of Chicago, joining a diverse and increasing group of elected officials and community leaders who are supporting Vallas in the race.

Alderman Lopez is supporting Vallas for his comprehensive plans to address public safety,  his dedication to providing economic opportunities to Chicago’s middle class, and his plan to increase safety on the CTA.

“Paul Vallas is the only choice for Mayor of Chicago because he is the only candidate with a serious plan to address the epidemic  levels of crime facing our city,” said Lopez.

“Paul has a long history of delivering for the people of our communities and as Mayor, I know he will continue to provide innovative solutions to our most pressing problems. I encourage voters in my Ward and across Chicago to support Paul Vallas for Mayor. ”

Alderman Lopez is the most recent leader to endorse Vallas in the runoff election, joining former Secretary of State Jesse White, Alderman Walter Burnett, Alderman and former Mayoral candidate Rod Sawyer, Alderman Matt O’Shea, former Mayoral candidate Dr. Willie Wilson, educator Dr. Joyce Kenner, Plumbers Local 130, and more.

“Alderman Lopez has been a leader in advocating for the full funding of our police department, addressing public safety, and investing in our communities. I’m proud to earn his support,” said Vallas.

O’Shea praised Vallas.

“We are running a city wide campaign and I am honored to continue receiving  support from every corner of Chicago.”

“I look forward to working with Paul Vallas and I’m proud to give him my endorsement,” said Alderman O’Shea.

“Paul Vallas is the only choice for Mayor of Chicago because he is the only candidate with a serious plan to address the epidemic  levels of crime facing our city,” said Alderman Lopez.

O’Shea and Lopez are just the latest in a long line of influential political and community leaders endorsing Vallas for Mayor, including former Secretary of State Jesse White, Alderman Walter Burnett, Alderman and former Mayoral candidate Rod Sawyer, former Mayoral candidate Dr. Willie Wilson, educator Dr. Joyce Kenner, Plumbers Local 130, and more.
