Right from the Middle: Keeping a close eye on China and semiconductor production

I am extremely happy to see, besides aiding and assisting Ukraine in so many ways in their gallant defense against Russia, Our Land of Liberty is keeping an eye on our real dangerous adversary China.

One area where we are doing this, is in the semi-conductor chip sector. This is a area where China is working extremely hard to master and control semiconductor chip development, in order to dominate the world.

Semiconductor chips and chip-making equipment are the tools of control now and in the future.

China has been making great strides in developing computer chips, semiconductors, and chip-making equipment for military and commercial purposes. China has been making these strides because of our, Laissez-faire attitude toward exporting our very advanced chip technology to China.

As of last week we have stopped that policy and practice. Equally as bad has been our policy of allowing senior experienced executives to move from Silicon Valley to Chinese companies in China.

At least 43 senior executives from American companies have moved from Silicon Valley chip makers and semiconductor equipment firms to Chinese firms in China.

Countless American scientist and engineers are in China giving their expertise to Chinese firms. These senior executives, engineers, and scientist have all been trained in Silicon Valley and constitute the tip of the spear in China’s mad dash to move ahead of us, that’s spelled United States, and the rest of the west in chip and semiconductor knowledge.

Our Fortress of Freedom is stopping that practice and policy now and also recalling American manufacturing companies operating in China.

This is also being halted. In fact, those senior executives now working for Chinese firms must return to America or give up their American citizenship.

The Halting of this suicidal practice and policy by America will affect memory chips used in PC’s, smartphones, personal computers, data servers, artificial intelligence, satellites, our space program basic computing chips and most important of all military equipment and hardware.

Unfortunately because of our naive policy in the past we product no top of the line semiconductors or manufacture any advanced computer chips.

We import 90 % of the chips we use from Taiwan, and 10% from Korea. And we are the ones the United States of America, who developed this technology in the first place, and then allowed it to be farmed out, to be further developed and manufactured.

Also, we are now not allowing any American scientist or engineer from aiding China in chip manufacturing, without the approval of the American government. Remember semiconductors are the foundation technology of the information age, and we must be the world leader in the Information age.

The Biden administration and Congress have taken another giant step to making America self-sufficient in semi-conductor development and manufacturing, by passing legislation that commits us to offering 52.7 billion dollars to incentivize chip develop and manufacturing in our American Republic.

America the beautiful is still the last best hope of mankind on earth. If our republic is to remain free, independent, and democratic, we must be the strongest nation on earth, so as to keep our freedom, and continue to be a lighthouse so the rest of the world seeking freedom and democracy can be guided by our moral values and strength.

I congratulate, salute and award an “A” for positive Americanism to the President Biden administration and Congress for this very wise action.
