GOP House candidate George Kemper condemns Feigenholtz Cartoon that attacks Catholics

Kemper, candidate for the Illinois House in the 12th District in Illinois has condemned the cartoon and demanded an apology

George Kemper, Republican candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 12th District (Streeterville, Gold Coast, Lincoln Park) today condemned the vicious anti-Catholic cartoon posted by State Senator Sara Feigenholtz on her Facebook page and called upon State Representative Margaret Croke (D, IL-12) to do the same.

The cartoon portrays a pope pointing a pistol at the back of the head of a visibly pregnant Statue of Liberty. “The cartoon is offensive and disturbing, no matter what religion one adheres to,” Kemper stated today.

“I stand with anyone who condemns its hateful message and call upon Ms. Croke to do the same. At a time of division in our country, we must support decency and the protection of freedom of religion in America.”

Kemper continued, “Politics by smear only harms us. Seeing an elected member of the Illinois Democrat Party act like this is out of line. Given that Democrat candidates cannot run on the accelerating decline of Illinois, it is a shame that some have resorted to raw insults.”

Kemper, a centrist Republican running to support government accountability, lower taxes, lower crime, and increased business opportunity, will oppose Croke, who supported both the police “reform” bill that was lenient towards criminals and the Pritzker progressive income tax.
