Community turns out for Orland Township Health Fair

The public turned out to ready their children for the opening of local schools at the Orland Township Back-to-School Health Fair Saturday August 14.

Orland Township’s Back-to-School Health Fair, hosted by Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady and the Board of Trustees, greeted the families and were joined by many local Township and village services.

The Back-to-School Health Fair had plenty of free services and fun activities available to children going into K to High School. School physicals (sports and health) were available for $35 for Township residents ($45 for non-residents) with proof of residency is required. Admission is FREE.

Dental screenings, eye exams, and haircuts (provided by Salon Evangelos) are among other services that were available. The Secretary of State Mobile Unit was onsite offering many documents including children’s birth certificate/passport, social security card, and driver’s license/ID of the parent (or guardian) is required to issue State ID’s.

Children enjoyed games and prizes from generous donors such as White Mountain, Burger 21, and many more. Face painting and local vendors were also at the event, including Edward Jones offering tuition assistance information. Different giveaways from White Mountain, Burger 21, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and other attendees were distributed.

The Orland Township Food Pantry distributed free school supplies to qualified resident families. There was free food & beverages courtesy of the Orland Township staff and donations from  Baracco’s Pizza, PW Commercial Real Estate, and Dunkin Donuts from Sterk Family Law.

Here are pictures from the event.
