Right from the Middle: All American Eagle’s program

Former Congressman Bill Lipinski continues to host his annual essay contests for school children (6th – 8th grade) on the topics of America history and patriotism. There are four areas of interest listed below. Enter today.

Following is a program that I believe can be very helpful in establishing patriotism in our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. It is a program that can probably be employed with high school students and perhaps even 4th, and 5th graders.

I have conducted the program with sixth seventh and eighth graders with quite a bit of success. In the following paragraphs I will outline that program for you.

The first step is to convince your public, private, and religious schools to participate in the program. For various reasons expect to encounter some resistance. But I believe with patients and persistence this challenge can be overcome.

Remember our founding fathers had a few challenges to overcome before they could establish our democratic republic.

There are four events in the year-long program, three essay contests, and a history quiz contest. Following is the way I conducted the program, you certainly can utilize my program or create your own your.

Following are the events, titles, and deadline dates, for my programs. but as I said before you can create your own program

First event, essay contest: “Why I love America.” The deadline to submit is Friday, October 8 2021.

Second event, essay contest: “What Were the Causes of the America Revolutionary War?” The deadline is Monday December 13th 2021.

Third event, essay contest: “Who is the Greatest President in American History?” The deadline is Monday, February 14 2021.

Fourth event, American history quiz: location to be determined. Deadline for entries Monday, April 4, 2022. or, when 30 entries per grade have been received. Each school may register two students per grade (you select where the participants for the quiz contest and the essay contests will be sent).

Each essay should be no more than 400 words.

Trophies and cash prices will be awarded to those finishing first and second in all four Contest, each grade will have their own winners. Except for the American history quiz contest, the sixth seventh and eighth grades will compete together.

You determine the size of the trophies and the amount of the prize money. If you need help or clarification on the program you may emailed me at bill lipinski at Hotmail.com

I believe it is very important to educate our youth in Americanism ,American history, and our democratic Republic principles.

I believe one way of doing this is by conducting essay contests on patriotic topics and other events that I hope will inspire in young people a desire to read more about American history so that they can discover for themselves what a great country they are fortunate to live in.
