Quinn ordinances reduces Chicago Vehicle Sticker costs for seniors

Chicago Alderman sponsored an ordinance in the City Council that reduces the costs of certain vehicle stickers for senior citizens. The ordinance was approved by the Chicago City Council and applies to vehicle stickers owned by seniors for trucks and large vans.

Last year, Chicago Alderman Marty Quinn introduced and passed an ordinance that provides senior citizens with a discount on their city stickers for small trucks, including pickup trucks and large vans.

The idea for the discount stemmed from one of Quinn’s regular conversations with residents in the ward. The new rate for senior citizens driving small trucks is $135, down from $206.13.

“Like most of my work for 13^th ward residents, this was a collaborative process between me and residents who requested this important change,” Quinn said. “I thank City Clerk Anna Valencia for working with me to further this idea that will impact the lives of many people across the city.”

“We are always looking to find ways to make our services more accessible to residents, particularly those who may be on a fixed income, like seniors,” said Clerk Valencia. “This measure means that more seniors will now be able to purchase their city sticker for less and put a little extra money in their pocket.”
