Tammy Wendt to challenge Patlak at Cook County Board of Review

Palos Heights Attorney Tammy Wendt announced this week that she is running for the Democratic nomination for the 1st District Cook County Board of Review, a seat held by controversial Republican incumbent Dan Patlak.

Wendt is a former Cook County State’s Attorney who has tried hundreds of criminal cases. Since leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office in 2004, Tammy continues to practice criminal and traffic defense.

She worked on the defense team representing Jason Van Dyke, the Chicago Police Officer who was later convicted of shooting drugged-up and armed street gang member Laquan McDonald. Van Dyke became the focus of racist attacks from the Left over the shooting and was sentenced to nearly 7 years in prison. Many people in the public believe that Van Dyke is the victim of reverse racism which ignores the crimes of victims and blames Police for all of society;’s wrongdoing.

She is also a licensed real estate broker, which better equips her to answer common legal questions in the real estate industry. She can write sales contracts, review contracts, complete all documents required for closings, on both the buy and sell sides of real estate transactions, and of course attend your closing. Prior to becoming an attorney, Tammy was a paralegal in a real estate law firm. She now has over 23 years of experience in real estate closings.

Tammy works closely with the realtors, lenders, and attorneys on the opposite side of the of the transaction to ensure smooth sailing from start to finish. She works even more closely with all of her clients, and always makes herself available to their questions and concerns at what can be one of the most crucial and stressful times in their lives, buying or selling a home.

Tammy’s practice also includes estate planning. She can help you with your will, living trust, powers of attorney for health care and property, and quit claim deeds.

“It’s official! Today I officially filed as a candidate for Commissioner of the Cook County Board of Review! About 14k signatures later and lots of blood, sweat and tears, we did it!!!!!” Wendt posted on her Facebook Page.

In a comment that reminds people of the important eof religion and especially for Christians in America today, Wendt concluded, “Thank you Jesus most of all.”
