Orland Fire announces dates for popular Kid Camp and Junior Cadet programs
The Orland Fire Protection District announced this week the scheduled dates for the popular and upcoming Kids Camp (June 15) and the Junior Cadet program (June 16), urging parents to mark their calendars for the events and for registration.
OFPD Program Coordinator Betsy Dine said the programs have limited enrollment and encouraged parents to save the date to sign their children up for the programs.
Registrations for the Kids Camp and for the Junior Cadet program will be held on April 30 beginning at 9 AM with registration on the Fire District’s website at OrlandFire.org. The programs are open to children of families that live in the district.
The Kids Camp program is a fun educational and hands-on day of training for kids ages 8-12 to learn about fire and life safety education. It offers children a glimpse of what it’s like to be a firefighter.

The Junior Cadet program is designed for teens ages 13 to17 years. This interactive Fire Academy gives participants a closer look at fire service as a career and the importance of teamwork, Dine said.
The Fire District also released its scheduled calendar for the annual Blood Drive (March 21), Senior BBQ (July 1) and the annual Open House (Sept. 12).
