Leving team wins in court for dad and his daughters

By Laura Reichel

The time a father spends with his children is both precious and important. It gives fathers the opportunity to bond with their children, show how much they care about them, create lifelong memories, and more importantly, protect them as only a father can do.

For a father, losing the opportunity to spend quality time with his children can be devastating.

This was the case for a caring father who found himself with an unfair parenting time schedule during a bitter and contentious divorce. But he turned to the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd. for help, and they delivered.

Chicago matrimonial attorney and Litigation Director Arthur Kallow of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. will talk about this important case on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CST Saturday, November 23rd on Power 92.3 FM. This show segment will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour Spotify page on dadsrights.com

Dad and the mother were in the middle of a bitter divorce, with dad desperately fighting for custody of his two little girls, ages three and five. Despite his best efforts, dad found himself with a parenting time allocation that only permitted minimal time for dad and his daughters to be together. Dad desired and needed more time to be there for them, primarily to keep them safe. If left as it was, it would have also deprived him, and his daughters of the time needed to strengthen and protect their relationship and much more.

At his wits’ end, the father contacted the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd. immediately for help. He was scared for his daughters’ safety. The Leving legal team assured dad that they would fight for him and his daughters, and they did – they won.

The Leving legal team knew what they had to do, and they did it. Their legal team went to court, presented persuasive evidence on behalf of dad, and powerfully argued to the court and won. They pointed out the consequences of separating children, especially so young, from their loving father for long periods of time. The judge agreed with the Leving legal team’s arguments and not only vacated the previous unfair order for minimal parenting time but ordered a new and very generous parenting time schedule for dad to be with his daughters. Not only did dad get more parenting time than what he was initially provided, but he was also given joint decision-making responsibilities regarding his daughters’ education, extracurricular activities, healthcare, and religion.

This is an important court victory, modified for broadcast, for this dad, which is crucial to building and maintaining the bond between dad and his daughters. Children should not be unfairly deprived of their fathers, regardless of the poor relationship and hostility between their parents. Dad refused to give up on his daughters and placed their futures in the palms of the Leving legal team’s hands. In return, the Leving legal team fought hard for this father and his children, and never gave up on fighting for them

Attorney and Litigation Director Arthur S. Kallow

Attorney Arthur S. Kallow was honored for his valuable contribution to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County as a court facilitator. He is also the recipient of the 2024 International Abduction Prevention Award.
