Tresser to lead Town Hall on damage Orland Park’s 3 New TIFs will have on taxpayers
A Town Hall meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 beginning at 6:30 PM to help homeowners and taxpayers in Orland Park understand the negative impact on local governments and schools that the three NEW TIFs that the Village of Orland Park is considering.
The meeting is organized by educator Mohammed Jaber who will serve as emcee and will feature Tom Tresser, an authority on the impact of Tax Increment Financing districts on taxpayers and on schools.
For some reason, many “leaders” in Orland Park are afraid to talk about the TIFs and their negative impact which will be greatest on local schools.
The Town Hall meeting featuring Tom Tresser will be in the Clarion Room at Georgios Banquets and Conference Center, 8800 W. 159th Street, in Orland Park.
The meeting is open to the public and free to attend. Tresser will lead a Q&A after his presentation on the negative impact Orland Park’s 3 NEW TIFs will have on taxpayers, homeowners and schools.
“There are not many taxpayers who are informed about the three new TIFs that the Village of Orland Park is possibly proposing,” said Mohammed Jaber an educator who is hosting the informational Town Hall meeting for Orland Park homeowners along with Tom Tresser who is an expert on TIFs.
“The TIF Town Hall will help explain how these tifs could devastate Orland Park taxpayers for years to come, including how it impacts the two un-filed financial audits.”
