Leving team’s victory in court keeps boy close to his dad

By: Laura Reichel

When a father gets divorced, it’s usually great if his children live nearby so they don’t lose each other – and that was the situation for a dad and his 10-year-old son.

However, according to court documents, the mother suddenly decided to move the boy out of state with her, to North Carolina. Dad did not agree and was scared; he’s a loving father who sees his son regularly, and he wanted that to continue.

They have a strong father-and-son bond, which is very important.

A move like this requires approval from either the other parent or from the court, and it appeared the mother had neither.

Chicago matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving and attorney and Litigation Director Art Kallow of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. will talk about this complex case on the weekly radio show, the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, August 17th on Power 92.3 FM. This show will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour Spotify page on dadsrights.com

Dad called the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. because his need for help was urgent: The mother was reportedly days away from departing and Dad was concerned that his relationship with his son would be in peril. Dad didn’t want to lose his son.

The Leving team immediately went to court, fiercely litigated the case, and won. The judge granted the Leving team’s request to put a stop to this: The mother was prevented by court order from removing the boy from Illinois. This was a great victory for this dad, modified for broadcast – and it’s a big relief. Dad no longer had to fear losing his relationship with his son or losing him forever.  It’s also a great victory for the Leving team, securing justice for a father and son.

Attorney and Litigation Director Arthur S. Kallow

Attorney Arthur S. Kallow was honored for his valuable contribution to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County as a court facilitator. Kallow was also selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer. Super Lawyers are considered the best in their profession, and they represent the top practicing attorneys in Illinois and the country.
