Leving court victory keeps Dad from losing son
CHICAGO- Dad feared he was at risk for losing his 11-year-old son. Despite his difficult divorce, he has remained an attentive and dedicated father to his child.
However, Dad was shocked and horrified to discover that his ex planned to cut him out of his son’s life.
His worst fears became a reality.
Attorney Jeffery Leving, founder and president of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving, Ltd. in Chicago will talk about this father’s case on his weekly radio show, the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, March 30, on Power 92.3 FM in Chicago and on power92chicago.com.
Attorney and Litigation Director of the Leving firm Art Kallow will join him on the air.
Dad was shocked to discover that his ex had filed a Petition for an Order of Protection against him – seeking to cut him out of his son’s life. She accused him of stalking her, physically abusing her and much more.
The petition sought to ban Dad from seeing his son and to kick him out of his home. If successful, any attempt to return home and see his son could have landed Dad in jail.
Dad was desperate when he contacted the Leving firm for help.
The Leving team immediately got to work fighting for Dad and his relationship with his son and getting him back in his home with his son. Being completely cut off from his young son was a horrible nightmare for this loving father. Leving won.
The judge dismissed the Petition for the Order of Protection filed against Dad. The court found that the opposing party didn’t sustain her burden of proof. Dad can now freely interact with his young son without the threat of jail. Dad is now where he belongs: back home and in his child ‘s life.
“I’m very proud of this victory and how we turned the client’s life around by winning in court.” Leving says, “This victory, modified for broadcast, is one where failure was not an option. Just because a father has separated from the mother of his child, doesn’t mean that Dad should be cut out of his child’s life. This father’s courage ensured that he and his son will stay together in each other’s life.”
Attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of President Biden’s 2023 Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
