Frankfort hosts Earth Day/Arbor Day community cleanup Saurday April 20

In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, the Village of Frankfort invites residents to participate in a community cleanup event on Saturday, April 20, 2024. This initiative encourages community members to come together and contribute to the beautification of our surroundings.

EVENT DETAILS:

Date and Time: Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Cleanup Locations: Various designated locations in the Village (refer to the list on the Village website: https://www.frankfortil.org)

T-shirt and Supplies Pickup: Village of Frankfort, 432 W. Nebraska Street, between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM. All participants will receive gloves, garbage bags, and a free T-shirt (while supplies last; T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed).

Volunteer Lunch @ 11:30 AM

After the cleanup, volunteers are invited to a Volunteer Lunch at the Utilities/Public Works Facility, 524 Center Road, starting at 11:30 AM. Enjoy complimentary pizza and cookies as a token of our appreciation.

Prizes Awarded!

Volunteers stand a chance to win gift cards to local businesses. Prizes will be awarded to a volunteer from each age group (Children 16 & under, Adults) in the following categories:

  1. Most Trash Collected
  2. Strangest Item Collected
  3. Dirtiest Volunteer

How to Enter:

Submit your photos for any category to [email protected] by 11:30 AM on April 20. Winners will be announced during the luncheon.

Students Can Earn Community Service Hours!

Participating students can earn community service hours, contributing to both their personal development and the betterment of the community.

“Let’s come together as a community to make a positive impact on our environment and create a cleaner, greener Frankfort,” commented Mayor Keith Ogle.
