A contractor working in a home in Orland Park fell down a 20 to 30 foot well that was in the building’s basement area and had to be rescued by firefighters with the Orland Fire Protection District this afternoon.
It took about one hour to carefully lift the victim whose injuries are still being evaluated out of the depths of the well, Fire Chief Michael Schofield said.
The incident took place in a home at the 14300 block of Oakley Avenue in Orland Park around 2 PM.
The contractor, who has not yet been identified, is in stable condition, firefighter rescue paramedics said.
