Children taken out of state returned to father by Dads’ Rights attorney

A father whose three school-aged children were taken from him to a different state by the biological mother had them returned by court order, said Fathers’ Rights Attorney Jeffery M. Leving.

The father has three children with his girlfriend, with whom he’s had an up-and-down relationship with for many years, took the children to Arizona, but never returned.

Turning to the Leving Law Firm for help, he won a judicial order to return his children.

“After the father tried several times on his own, without success, to bring the mother and his children home, he contacted and retained our office,” Leving said,

“The concerned dad did the right thing, because mothers leaving the state – or the country – with children, over the objection of the father, is a common occurrence. We have litigated those cases many times and have won.”

Leving said the ruling is important to protect the father’s rights.

“Fathers are parents, too, and they are usually entitled to have their children near them, not to be taken far away from them. It shouldn’t work that way,” Leving said.

“We went to court and told the judge what had happened and argued that the children must be returned to Illinois. After two long days in an evidentiary hearing, the father won his custody rights! The judge ordered the kids returned to Illinois. Dad and his children were reunited after a very difficult, seven-month separation.”

Leving said this happens far too often but fathers often have an option to pursue their parental and custody rights.

“This is a committed father who loves his children. His parental rights unfortunately had to be litigated, and we won. Dad and his children are together again, and I’m very happy for them,” Leving said.

This is a great victory modified for broadcast for this dedicated father.

Leving will discuss the case on his weekly radio show on Saturday, May 20, 2023 on “The Dads’ Rights Legal Hour” which is broadcast live from 9 AM until 10 AM on the Chicago radio station Power 92.3 FM.
