Think you have the most festive house on the block? Then Orland Township has the contest for you! Supervisor Paul O’Grady will host Orland Township’s first annual Township Tinsel Holiday Home Decorating Contest where residents can enter to win a prize for having the best decorated house in Orland Township.
The Orland Township ‘Township Tinsel” Holiday Home Decoration Contest is open to ALL Orland Township residents.
Starting on Nov. 21, residents may message Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady’s official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/supervisorogrady) with a picture of their home, address, and contact information to enter. Further information can be found at www.orlandtownship.org/townshiptinsel.
Registration will last from Monday, Nov. 21, to Friday, Dec. 9.
On Saturday, Dec. 10, registered homes will be posted online on Supervisor O’Grady’s official Facebook page. The home to receive the most likes (post reactions) on their official posted photo by Friday, Dec. 16, will win the People’s Choice Award. Winners will be announced on Facebook on Saturday, Dec. 17.
“I’m excited to announce the start of Township Tinsel.” Said Supervisor Paul O’Grady.
“It’s a great opportunity for our residents to showcase their skills and creativity by showing off their homes in this contest. We know how serious decorating for the Holidays can get: so why not have some fun with it?”
Additional Township Tinsel categories include:
• SUPERVISOR’S CHOICE (One entered home will be hand chosen as winner by Supervisor Paul O’Grady)
• ORLAND TOWNSHIP BOARD CHOICE (One entered home will be hand chosen as winner by the entire Orland Township Board.)
The winners of Township Tinsel will win a $100 gift card to a restaurant of their choice (within Orland Township) and a decorative yard sign. The winners also will be featured in the upcoming FOCUS newsletter.
