Chicago Fire sets dates for “home games” at SeatGeek Stadium because of date conflicts with Soldier Field and Bears

Chicago Fire FC announced Friday July 22, 2022 a venue change for the Club’s home matches to be held on Saturday, Sept. 10 against Inter Miami CF and on Sunday, Oct. 9 against the New England Revolution.
Due to conflicts at Soldier Field with the Chicago Bears’ schedule, the Fire’s Sept. 10 and Oct. 9 home matches will now be held at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill.
Per the lease agreement with Soldier Field, the Fire are unable to play games at the venue within five days of a Bears’ home game.
The Bears are scheduled to play regular season games at Soldier Field on Sunday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Oct. 13.
The Bridgeview Stadium, SeatGeek Stadium, hosts many community regional, sports and entertainment events.

Kick Childhood Cancer-related events and observations will take place in-stadium, digitally, and on the Club’s broadcast throughout the match.
The contest against the Revs on Oct. 9 (WGN-TV, CF97 Live and Univision Radio) will begin at 1:30 p.m. CT and will mark the Fire’s final regular season match of the 2022 campaign. Occurring just one day after the Club’s 25th anniversary celebration on Oct. 8, the regular season finale will serve as the Club’s annual Fan Appreciation Night and 25th Season celebration match. The match will feature alumni appearances, highlighted by a special on-field recognition of members of the ‘98 MLS Cup and U.S. Open Cup Championship team at halftime. The first 5,000 fans will also receive an exclusive 1998 MLS Cup Champions pennant. The originally scheduled Soldier Field replica giveaway will now be given to the first 5,000 fans at the Fire match on Saturday, Aug. 27 against CF Montréal at Soldier Field.
