Drive-Thru Parties
Brookfield fire and police offer parades
By Steve Metsch
As a way to buoy spirits, Brookfield is offering residents drive-by birthday parades featuring some of the village’s police and fire vehicles.
Stevie Ferrari, director of the Brookfield parks and recreation department, said that resident can send a request to her at sferrrari@brookfield.il.gov.
It’s being billed as a “Drive-Thru Party.”
In a flier, the village says “we are here to help you to celebrate and share in a little joy.”
The flier notes that because of concerns over the coronavirus, many celebrations are currently not celebrated.
Those may include “new babies, birthdays or anniversaries, to name a few,” the flier reads.
“The only way it does not happen is if we have an emergency callout by either department,” Ferrari said.
If interested, don’t wait too long to book your drive-thru party: “We have we have about 20 dates between (April 17) and the first week of May,” Ferrari said
