Demonstrates his strong grassroots support and the hunger for real change

Raymond Lopez officially filed his nominating petitions on Monday Nov. 27 to run for Congress in Illinois’ 4th District.

With over 3,000 petition signatures submitted on the first day of filing, Lopez demonstrates the strength of his grassroots movement and underscores his commitment to usher in a new era of Democratic leadership, one rooted in delivering action and results on progressive ideals.

“I’m proud to file today on behalf of the thousands of working families who stand behind our vision of results-driven progressive leadership,” stated Raymond Lopez.

“Together, we will deliver common-sense solutions that tangibly improve lives and advance our Democratic, progressive ideals.”

Raymond Lopez’s filing provides voters with a clear alternative to the sleep politics of the past. Lopez’s action-oriented, results-driven progressive leadership has earned him support from voters district-wide and serves as a wake-up call to the complacent political elites.

 

“Like many in our community, my husband Hugo and I have felt the pain of waiting for hapless politicians to act. Since falling in love in 2006, our journey towards legal recognition — through Domestic Partnership, Civil Union, and finally marriage — reflects the slow pace of political change,” Lopez candidly shared.

“We can’t afford to lose more time. The critical issues of district investment, immigration, and ending Congress’ dysfunction demand fresh leadership and immediate action.”
