Orland Park Home fire, Avenida Del Este Monday evening, Nov. 7, 2022

Fire believed to have begun in shed spread quickly to the adjacent home in Orland Park on Monday evening, Nov. 7, 2022. Neighbor alerts homeowner as the fire spread. No injuries reported.

The Orland Fire District responded at 10:41 PM to a 911 fire call located on the 9800 block of Avenida Del Este Monday evening.
Multiple 911 calls were received for an unknown type fire in the area, that is suspected to have begun from a shed adjacent to the home. Battalion 6 arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and fire coming out of the a shed which was located adjacent to a tri-level home.
The fire had already extended from the shed and was spreading quickly into the attic of the second floor of the home. The home was severely damaged and is currently deemed uninhabitable.
The homeowner was alerted of the fire by an unknown person that saw the fire and kept banging on the door until the resident came to the door. There were no injuries on the scene.

Multiple fire crews from the Orland Fire District arrived on the scene and assisted with fire control, search and rescue, and overhaul of the structure.
Orland Park Police assisted by alerting neighbors in another adjacent home and relocated them to safety. A full still alarm was called  to provide additional manpower and equipment to the scene and to back fill Orland stations.
