On June 10, 2025, I published an article online representing my opinions. In that article, I made several statements about the Orland Firefighters Union Local 2754.
The publication included accusing the Orland Firefighters of using racism and religious prejudice to strengthen their voter base in the April 1 election. I also wrote that the Orland Firefighters Union Local 2754 published views on their social media pages, promoting anti-Arab racism, and I called the union leadership “deceitful.”
After more information, I realize these accusations are unfounded as it relates to Union Local 2754. I hereby fully retract the statements which I published, especially the claim the Union Local 2754 is “anti-Arab” or promoted racism in any form on their social media pages.
Finally, I acknowledge that after the article was published, members of the Union Local 2754 reported verbal harassment regarding alleged racism and anti-Arab views. I sincerely regret if my article had any effect on the safety of any members of the Union, and I would encourage my readers to treat members of the Union Local 2754 with respect and dignity.
