Congressman Jonathan Jackson Endorses Sonia Khalil for State Representative
Khalil is running for an open seat in the 36th District
Congressman Jonathan Jackson today endorsed Sonia Khalil for State Representative in the 36th district.
“I am proud to endorse Sonia Anne Khalil for State Representative,” said Congressman Jonathan Jackson, (D-IL-01).
“Sonia has demonstrated her strong commitment to protecting a woman’s right to choose and will fight to deliver affordable, accessible healthcare for all. Sonia Anne Khalil is the Democrat in this race we can trust.”
“I’m very grateful to Congressman Jackson for his support,” said Sonia Anne Khalil, candidate for state representative.

“His work and that of the entire Jackson family set a roadmap for how to participate in the political process and win. Their leadership in civil rights, social justice, women’s rights and voting rights is unquestioned. It is truly an honor to have earned Jonathan Jackson’s endorsement.”
Khalil is also endorsed by: SEIU IL State Council, Illinois Nurses’ Association, National Association of Letter Carriers, and American Postal Workers Union, Sierra Club, Citizen Action Illinois, Indian American Political Alliance, Mayor of Palos Hills Gerald Bennett, Palos Township Democratic Committeeman Robert Maloney, Congresswoman Delia Ramirez, and former Cook County Clerk David Orr.
Khalil is competing for an open seat in the 36th House District, which includes parts of the south side of Chicago and the Southwest Suburbs.
Arab American Democratic Club (AADC) endorsements int he March 19, 2024 Democratic Primary.
