Highway Commissioner Rubino receives Grant Funds
Orland Township Highway Department Commissioner Antonio Rubino receives funds for road assessments
The Orland Township Highway Department has received grant funds from the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP).
The funds will allow for road assessments and pavement management implementation of the unincorporated areas in Orland Township.
The evaluation consists of a high-tech pavement evaluation vehicle navigating its way through the streets capturing high quality digital images and laser data of pavement surfaces.
The data will then be used to perform a comprehensive analysis of the condition of roadways, according to the office of Highway Commissioner Antonio Rubino.

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning will help develop plans to make roads safer, improve the quality of transportation and help the community build capacity.
“This is part of an ongoing effort to improve roadways and save taxpayer monies by doing so,” said Highway Commissioner Antonio Rubino.
