Congressional candidate Kaspar releases anti-crime video to detail his safety plan

Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau who is running for Congress as a Republican in the new 6th District, released a statement Sunday (March 27, 2022) that attacked his chief Republican rival this week, Scott Kaspar, falsely accusing Kaspar of attacking the Orland Park Police Department.

Kaspar said that he has never attacked the Orland Park Police Department or any police department, but he has attacked the rise in crime.

Rather than respond to Pekau’s ridiculous attempts to get publicity by fabricating issues, Kaspar instead forged ahead with his campaign to make safety and fighting crime his top priorities in the 6th District and the region.

Kaspar released a follow-up video on addressing the public safety crisis playing out in every corner of the Chicagoland area and addressing his commitment to fight rising crime.

Kaspar said, “Crime is the Number One issue.  Crime is spilling from the City to the north side, to the west side, and out to the western suburbs, including places 40 minutes from the City, such as Orland Park … Crime is on our doorstep.”

Kaspar continued, “And it’s by design. Far left billionaire George Soros has funded prosecutors like Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx and Lake County State’s Attorney Eric Rinehart, as well as dozens of others nationwide, to sow chaos throughout our country.  Some have called on Kim Foxx to resign, but that misses the point: Kim Foxx is not incompetent, but calculating.  She is doing exactly what her supporters have funded her to do.”

Kaspar praised the hard work and dedication of all of the police departments to confront the rising crime wave.

“State and local police departments are working tirelessly to combat the rising crime, but they have been placed in a situation that would not exist if Kim Foxx, Eric Rinehart and others enforced the laws.  Police are stretched thin, and many municipalities lack the funding for sufficient staffing, equipment and resources,” Kaspar said.

That’s why Kaspar formed a “Public Safety Task Force” chaired by Bernard Kerik, former New York City Police Commissioner, to develop the plan Kaspar will begin on Day One in Congress to restore law and order to our communities.

Kaspar said he “wants a team that has a proven track record for driving down crime, and no one has demonstrated this better than Kerik.”

During Kerik’s tenure in New York City, shootings were drastically reduced from 2200 each year to less than 700.  In the Black Community, violent crimes were brought down by 85%.

The Public Safety Task Force is exploring ways of using the congressional “power of the purse” to bring Blue State governors like JB Pritzker to the table to force them to get control of crime: Make Soros-funded prosecutors like Kim Foxx do their jobs, or fire and replace them with those who will, Kaspar said.

The Public Safety Task Force also is exploring ways of prioritizing federal grant money to law enforcement agencies to provide enhanced equipment and modern training facilities.  Scott Kaspar supports and intends to work with local law enforcement.

Commissioner Kerik is the most decorated Police Commissioner to have served the City of New York.

Kaspar is an engineer and lawyer and resides with his wife and kids in Orland Park, Illinois.
