Lyons Music in the Park continues thru August 28
The Village of lyons contoinues it’s weekly musical entertainment, Music in the Park, from 6 PM until 9 PM every Wednesday at Veterans Park, 4100 Lawndale Avenue.
The Music in the Park is a part of Village President Christopher Getty’s program to strengthen community and neighborhood involvement and activities.
The lineup of musicians includes:
July 31: Eddie Korosa Jr.
August 7: Tha Fabtones
August 14: Ax & the Hatchetmen
August 21: Moonlight Pickers
August 28: The Jolly Ringwalds.
“Music in the Park is one of the communty;s favorite community events and I am excited by the response that we have received,” Mayor Getty said.
Ray Hanania is an award-winning columnist, author & former Chicago City Hall reporter (1977-1992). A veteran who served during the Vietnam War and the recipient of four SPJ Peter Lisagor Awards for column writing, Hanania writes weekly opinion columns on mainstream American & Chicagoland topics for the Southwest News-Herald, Des Plaines Valley News, the Regional News, The Reporter Newspapers, and Suburban Chicagoland.
Hanania also writes about Middle East issues for the Arab News, and The Arab Daily News criticizing government policies in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Hanania was named "Best Ethnic American Columnist" by the New America Media in November 2007, and is the 2009 recipient of the SPJ National Sigma Delta Chi Award for column writing.
