Weather gives Chicago suburbs light show
Lightning lights up the skies over the Chicagoland South and Southwest suburbs Monday night in a rapid succession, and some thought might be a scene out of the SciFi movie “War of the Worlds.”

The skies above gave the South and Southwest Chicagoland suburbs a real light show on Monday (July 10, 2017) night at around 10 pm.
An unusual burst of Lightning lit up the sky in rapid succession for more than 30 minutes, even allowing people to capture lightning bolts with their iPhones and Android devices.
Catching a picture of lightning is almost impossible and has more to do with luck than anything else, but Monday night was a lightning observer’s dream come true.
Some thought it could well be a scene out of the SciFi movie “War of the Worlds.”
