Leving team rescued Dad’s little girls, saving them from a toxic home

By Laura Reichel

A father’s greatest joy is brought by his children and his greatest fear is losing them.

This is the fear a desperate father experienced after discovering his ex-wife was planning on taking his children away from him and exposing them to a man who posed a danger to the children.

Chicago matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving will discuss this complex court victory on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, July 13th on Power 92.3 FM.

It will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour Spotify page on dadsrights.com.

Dad and his ex-wife were divorced and had an informal agreement to share custody of their two little girls, ages 4 and 6, with a 50/50 parenting schedule.

However, Dad began to grow suspicious of his ex-wife after she reportedly began to violate their informal agreement by refusing to return the children at times and consistently contradicting Dad’s decisions regarding the children.

Dad’s final straw was when he discovered bruises and injuries on both of his daughters after picking them up from their mother’s home. Alarmed and fearing the worst, Dad immediately contacted Leving for help. This frantic Dad was assured that Leving would help.

The Leving legal team immediately got to work and, through their investigative services, discovered that the mother was in a relationship with and living with a man Dad had never met. Furthermore, there was evidence indicating that the ex-wife’s new fiancée was a serious danger to the little girls, as it was learned that he had been accused of child abuse in Oregon. Leving knew they had to act fast in order to save Dad’s daughters, so the legal team immediately filed an Emergency Petition for an Order of Protection, citing the dangers present in the mother’s home and requesting that Dad be given temporary sole custody of his daughters. An Emergency Order of Protection was granted, and the little girls were reunited with their father. They are now safe.

The Leving team fiercely continued to litigate this matter in court for a permanent resolution, arguing that the ex-wife’s fiancée posed a threat to the physical and mental well-being of the little girls. They were determined to continue to fight for the safety of these children, and ensure that they remained in the custody of their father, who would provide them with a stable, safe, and loving home. The Leving firm presented witnesses who testified in favor of Dad, citing facts to prove that it was in the best interest of the children to remain with their father. The judge agreed with Leving’s arguments and ordered that primary custody be given to Dad as well as final decision making authority over the children’s education and medical needs.

This victory, modified for broadcast, was crucial to keeping this loving father and his little girls together. Not only were the girls removed from a reported toxic and dangerous household, but it was ensured that they would remain in the safety of their father’s home. Dad no longer has to fear for his daughters’ safety nor fear that his ex-wife would take them away from him again and possibly forever. Failure was never an option.
