Dad Won Sole Custody, Saving His Baby from a Life of Danger
By Laura Reichel
A frightened father reached out for help with one urgent concern —protecting his infant son. The baby was living safely with dad, who had an informal parenting agreement with the mother, until troubling news shattered dad’s peace of mind: the mother had reportedly moved in with a drug dealer.
Fearing she might come and take his son to live in such a feared environment, dad immediately called attorney Jeffery M. Leving to protect his son.
The Leving legal team fought for them in court and won, winning an Order of Protection that ensured the mother would not be able to take dad’s son away from him and granted dad sole custody of his child.
Chicago based matrimonial attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd., will talk about this important court victory on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CST Saturday, March 14th on Power 92.3 FM.

This show segment will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour’s Spotify page on dadsrights.com. Listen to this radio show to follow Leving’s fight to protect children everywhere and share this victory and connect on Instagram @dadsrights. All children matter.
When the mother appeared at dad’s home demanding the baby, dad made a wise decision: he immediately called attorney Leving. Leving assured dad his team would fight to keep his infant child safe and at home with him. The Leving legal team’s private detective conducted a criminal background investigation of the mother and her reported drug dealer boyfriend and discovered the boyfriend had an extensive drug-related criminal history.
The Leving legal team immediately went to court and successfully secured a court order to get the mother drug tested, a test she failed. At the court hearing, they presented the failed drug test and evidence of the mother’s harassment of dad. The judge granted dad a two-year plenary Order of Protection, which included dad’s son as a protected party. Thanks to the plenary Order of Protection, dad has sole custody. The mother was ordered to stay away from dad’s house or face jail time.
This was an important court victory modified for publication to protect an infant from a reported dangerous household and restore a dad’s peace of mind. If dad hadn’t sought help, his child most likely would be living in the home of a reported drug dealer instead of living with his father. This was an excellent result for dad and his child, and an example of the dedication and work of the Leving legal team in protecting and preserving the safety of this infant.
Matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe R. Biden, Jr. in recognition of 7,500 hours of Leving’s service to this nation. Leving is also the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush. Leving is a nationally recognized matrimonial and family law attorney.
