Congressional Candidate Niki Conforti Calls for Healthcare Reform After 17 Republicans Vote to Extend ACA Subsidies

As Americans watch their healthcare costs go up, it is imperative for Congress to find a meaningful and lasting solution to the nation’s healthcare crisis.

Restoring subsidies for Obamacare is not a solution. It perpetuates a broken system that is not working for the people.

More than 25% of the national budget is spent on healthcare, yet Americans are getting sicker, premium prices keep rising, and access continues to decline.

Everybody needs healthcare and no one should worry how they are going to pay for the tests and services needed.

In a nation that spends trillions of dollars in foreign aid, and sees billions more wasted through fraud and abuse, it is a slap in the face to all Americans, especially working Americans, to keep struggling with healthcare concerns. No American should become impoverished from being sick, especially when special interest groups are consistently fed by ‘paid for politicians’ like my current congressman Sean Casten.

If elected I will work tirelessly to reform America’s healthcare, to increase access, bring down prices through competition, lower the cost of prescription drugs, and ensure healthcare becomes not just affordable but also a right to every American.

This can be done. We can do this by making sure that our tax dollars are spent right here at home, not on foreign wars and not on corporate subsidies that line the pockets of insiders. It’s time that Republicans work to design a new system that benefits the people, not the insurance companies.

Residents of District IL-06 deserve better. It is time to elect a representative that will sit at the table and work out solutions in Washington that benefit the people of the 6th District. I pledge to be that representative. Sean Casten has shown he cannot be.

You deserve Niki Conforti……A candidate for affordable healthcare.
