Protecting What Matters Most — A Father’s Fight for His Sons

When a father fears for his children’s safety, every moment can feel like a battle between hope and helplessness. For an Illinois dad, that fear became a harsh reality.
His two young sons were reported to be living in a dangerous environment, and their safety was in jeopardy. Refusing to give up on his children, dad turned to the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. to protect his children.

Dad was never married to the children’s mother but has a close relationship with his two boys. Dad was worried about his sons and reported that the mother had a history of severe alcohol and substance abuse and that she had bad-mouthed dad in front of the children. He feared not just for his children’s happiness, but for their safety, too.
Desperate to protect his sons, he turned to attorney Jeffery Leving and his team for help in securing residential custody of his sons. The Leving legal team reassured this father that they would fight for them and they delivered.
Moving swiftly, the Leving legal team demonstrated to the court that dad has consistently provided a safe, nurturing environment for his children and that the mother’s actions placed them in potential danger. They fiercely argued that dad should be granted residential custody and decision-making authority for his children. They won. The judge granted dad full custody and parental decision-making rights and imposed limited, supervised parenting time for the mother, conditioned on her compliance with treatment and court orders.
This court victory modified for publication placed two young boys where they belong – safe with their dad. Dad no longer has to fear for his sons’ safety and can now support and raise his children. Every child deserves to feel safe and loved.
