Southbound lanes on Laramie Avenue will close during evening hours
Laramie Avenue to be blocked during evening hours because of construction to repair train track overpass caused by railroad property sinkhole
Cicero, IL — A sinkhole that formed on BNSF railroad property at 33rd Street and Laramie Avenue will require road repair work beginning immediately.
Between the hours of 7 AM and 3 PM every day until further notice, traffic on Laramie will be restricted to one lane in each direction, North and South between 31st and 34th Street.
However, between 3 PM and 7 AM until the repairs are completed, Southbound traffic will be blocked during construction, and only Northbound traffic will be permitted.
Construction work will be on the Southbound side of the railroad track bridge over Laramie Avenue at 33rd Street.

Motorists using Laramie Avenue should be aware and expect delays. They are urged to seek other alternative routes until road construction work, which could take several days to a week, is completed.
