Man killed by Metra train in Tinley Park
Tinley Park officials said Friday that Metra and Tinley police investigating the death of a pedestrian hit by a METRA train Friday afternoon
Tinley Park police are assisting the Metra Police Department in investigating a pedestrian vs. train incident that occurred Friday afternoon near the Oak Park Avenue train station, 6700 South Street. According to Metra police, the victim died at the scene.
“I want to extend my deepest condolences to the victim’s family,” Tinley Park Mayor Michael Glotz said. “It’s never easy losing someone you love. The Tinley Park community stands behind you in your time of grief.”
Metra is expected to release more information after its investigation has concluded.
Information on the victim was not released by Metra at press time.
