Dad Wins Custody of Son After Terrifying DCFS Call
By Laura Reichel
An out-of-state dad received a terrifying phone call from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
It was reported that the agency suspected that dad’s ten-year-old son was being neglected by the child’s mother.
Dad immediately traveled to Illinois, where the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services placed the child with him, but his relief was short-lived.
Dad was terrified that the mother might take the young boy and place him in danger and so dad turned to attorney Jeffery M. Leving for help. The Leving legal team fought for him and won, protecting dad’s son and so much more.
Chicago based matrimonial attorney Jeffery Leving, President of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd., will talk about this important court victory on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CST Saturday, March 7th on Power 92.3 FM. This show segment will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour’s Spotify page on dadsrights.com. Attorney Leving quickly assured dad that his team would fight for him to protect his child, and that’s exactly what they did. The Leving legal team’s private detective conducted a criminal background investigation of the mother as well as her live-in boyfriend, who reportedly turned out to have an extensive domestic violence history.
The Leving legal team immediately went to court and won back-to-back emergency hearings, fighting to ensure that this young boy be allowed to stay with his father after the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services’ investigation. They won. The judge ordered that the young boy stay with his dad and granted dad sole decision-making authority of his son’s education, allowing him to transfer the child to dad’s local school district. The judge ordered that the mother was allowed only supervised parenting time.
This was an important victory modified for publication to fight for dad and protect his little boy. If dad had not reached out for help, his son could have been returned to the mother once the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services concluded their investigation, endangering his life. This was a great result for this dad and his son and is emblematic of the Leving legal team’s dedication and determination to protect children and fathers everywhere.
Matrimonial attorney Jeffery M. Leving is the recipient of the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe R. Biden, Jr. in recognition of 7,500 hours of Leving’s service to this nation. Leving is also the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President George W. Bush.
