Leving Matrimonial Law Seminar to Address Complex Litigation Motions and Exceptions to the Hearsay Rule
By Laura Reichel
The Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. will host the next presentation of the Arthur S. Kallow Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Seminar Series on August 20th at 6:30 p.m. CDT at 225 W. Wacker Drive in Chicago.
The keynote CLE speaker, distinguished family law attorney Lawrence Starkopf, will present a comprehensive lecture on essential and complex issues in family law.
Attorney Lawrence Starkopf will address motions to reconsider and motions to re-open proofs, providing key insights into valuable strategies attorneys can utilize to successfully challenge rulings and reopen the evidentiary record when justice requires further consideration.
In addition, attorney Starkopf will also focus on the Guardian ad Litem (GAL) hearsay exception, a nuanced and frequently encountered evidentiary issue that plays a crucial role in child-related family law cases.
Attorney Starkopf litigated the trial and the appeal to the Supreme Court of Illinois of the critical case that defined how courts distinguish between marital and non-marital assets, with the issues of contribution, dissipation, transmutation, and valuation. This defined the practice of matrimonial law in the state of Illinois.
“Family law is constantly evolving, and success often depends on both the attorney’s expertise and mastery of ever-changing procedural and evidentiary tools,” says attorney Jeffery M. Leving, the founder and president of the firm, who will facilitate the session.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
