Leving team helped father and daughter reunite after long lonely separation

By Laura Reichel

A father’s love and dedication for his child is a powerful thing. After this father and his seven-year-old daughter were unjustly kept apart by the little girl’s mother, it was his love for his daughter that gave dad the strength to continue fighting for his little girl.

Early in the little girl’s life, the mother suddenly cut off Dad from seeing his daughter. When this happens, getting father and child together again is a challenge of varying degrees of difficulty, depending on the circumstances.

Chicago matrimonial attorney and Litigation Director Arthur Kallow of the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. will talk about this difficult case on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour, 9-10 a.m. CDT Saturday, October 26th on Power 92.3 FM. This show segment will be available for download on the Dads’ Rights Legal Hour Spotify page on dadsrights.com

Scared and anxious to see his daughter again, dad reached out to the Law Offices of Jeffery M. Leving Ltd. for help. The Leving legal team assured dad that they would fight for him and his daughter, and they did. They fought hard for him, and they won.

The relationship between dad and his daughter had been torn apart by the mother’s sudden and abrupt decision to stop the daughter from seeing her father. The Leving legal team was tasked with rebuilding it. It appeared to the team that the relationship was so damaged that they felt a therapist would be needed to reunite the young girl with her father so she could readjust to having him back as part of her life.

In court, however, the mother opposed the appointment of a therapist, and the Leving legal team were worried that the mother planned to move, with the child, out of state. If that happened, the chance of Dad ever seeing his little girl again – let alone having any kind of constructive, loving relationship – could be close to zero.

The Leving team impressed upon the judge the importance of the father-child relationship, strongly arguing that this child needs her dad, and the child was deprived of her father for far too long. They were worried the loss of her caring father, especially for a child so young, could have a devastating impact on the little girl’s mental, emotional and physical health.

The Leving legal team won. The judge appointed a reunification therapist to work to bring this little girl and her dedicated father together again.

This is an important victory, modified for broadcast, to bring benefits that last a lifetime to Dad and his daughter. This young daughter is on the path of reunification with her caring father. The father-child relationship here, once dismantled, must be rebuilt, and it’s like building a house. If you build a good foundation, it will withstand storms and even a hurricane. Dad and his little girl have the opportunity to rebuild and fortify their relationship into a strong father-child bond to last a lifetime.

Attorney and Litigation Director Arthur S. Kallow

Attorney Arthur S. Kallow was honored for his valuable contribution to the Domestic Relations Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County as a court facilitator. Kallow was also selected as an Illinois Super Lawyer. Super Lawyers are considered the best in their profession, and they represent the top practicing attorneys in Illinois and the country.
