Fire damages home in Orland Park June 12
The Orland Fire District received multiple 911 calls at approximately 9 PM on Friday June 12, 2020 for a fire in the garage in the 15200 block of Woodmar Drive.
Engine 2, Ambulance 2, and Battalion 1 arrived on the scene and found a one and one half story single family residence with heavy smoke and fire in the attached garage. Fire crews made an aggressive attack on the fire with two hand lines preventing the fire from extending into the attic of the home.

Multiple fire crews from the Orland Fire District arrived on the scene and assisted with fire control, search and rescue, and overhaul of the structure. A full still alarm was called to provide additional manpower and equipment to the scene and back fill Orland Stations. The fire started in the garage and was contained to the garage with very little extension into the utility room.
There was minimal smoke damage that had extended into the home. The aggressive attack prevented further damage and as a result of the quick actions by the fire companies, the home was habitable, and the residents were able to stay in the home.
There were no injuries as a result of the fire.
The fire is currently under investigation by the Orland Fire District Investigation Team. Other fire departments providing coverage and manpower included Tinley Park, Palos Fire District, Palos Heights, Crestwood, N.W. Homer, Homer, Frankfort, New Lenox, Argonne, Oak Forest, and Matteson.
