Ray Hanania is an award-winning columnist, author & former Chicago City Hall reporter (1977-1992). He is a military veteran who served during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force.
He is the recipient of four (4) Society of Professional Journalism (SPJ) “Peter Lisagor Awards” for column writing.
Hanania writes weekly opinion columns on mainstream American & Chicagoland topics for Suburban Chicagoland and publishes submissions from recognized writers.
Hanania is also a columnist with the Southwest News Newspaper Group which includes The Regional News Newspaper, The Reporter Newspaper, The Des Plaines Valley News Newspaper and the Southwest News Newspaper.

He is the co-founder of the Israeli-Palestinian Comedy Tour and his standup comedy performances throughout the Middle East, Europe and American college campuses and comedy clubs lampooned his unusual life, a Palestinian married to a Jewish wife.
