Rubino and Hastings host Hazardous Waste Recycling Event Oct. 14

The Orland Township Highway Department will host a Hazardous Waste Recycling Event on Saturday October 14 from 8 AM until 3 PM at 14700 S. Ravinia Avenue.

Reservations are required to drop off hazardous materials that include old paint, aerosol pesticides, antifreeze, lawn chemicals household batteries and more.

Hosted by Highway Commissioner Antonio Rubino and State Senator Michael Hastings, the event will help homeowners eliminate waste that is often ver difficult to properly dispose.

The event is being held in partnership with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA), the Village of Orland Park, Cook County, Palos Township and State Rep. Robert Rita (D-28th).

The event is Free. Please review the attached flyer which lists hazardous waste that can be accepted and items that are restricted and cannot be accepted.
