Cook County Recorder Moody hosts Veterans Family FunFest Oct. 19

Cook County Recorder of Deeds Office will again partner with the Cook County Department of Veteran’s Affairs – Bureau of Administration, the Allen J. Lynch Medal of Honor Veterans Assistance Program, Malcolm X College, Chicago Veterans, Forest Park Veterans Center and Veteran One Stop Shop LLC to host our Third Annual Military and Veterans Signature Event entitled CCRD Military and Veterans Family Fun Festival.

This is a FREE event designed to honor our servicemen/women, provide services, offer career opportunities, fun, food, games and activities for the whole family. The event will be held at Malcolm X College, 1900 West Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 10am to 3pm. Please see attached flyer.

“As public officials and servants, we have an obligation to all citizens to provide the services and programs they need; so, during this special time, we want to give our servicemen/women bridges to success and meet the needs of the families. Oftentimes, although services and/or programs are provided to them, their families are often neglected and overlooked and their needs go unmet,” said Cook County Recorder of Deeds Edward M. Moody.

“We recognize that family is an important component of their existence and want to bind them together for some fun and relaxation, and provide them with services too. At this year’s CCRD Signature Veteran’s event we are creating an atmosphere where they can bind and escape some of the daily stress they may be facing, have fun and still have the opportunity to seek services. Your support as we continue to provide bridges to their overall success would be appreciated.”

Moody asked members of the public and governments to circulate the information to reach as many veteran san veterans’ families as possible.

“If you could please include this event in any constituent communications you may disseminate in your respective communities prior to October 10, 2019, it would be greatly appreciated,” Moody said.

For questions or concerns, please contact Robin Staggers, Special Assistant to the Recorder for Community Affairs at 312-603-3974 or via email at robin.staggers@cookcountyil.gov or you can contact Brian Cross, our Coordinator of Veterans Services, at 312-603-5788 or brian.cross@cookcountyil.gov.
