OFPD Coffee & Conversation addresses power of Music in addressing Alzheimers and dementia

The Orland Fire Protection District (OFPD) will focus on the challenges of Alzheimers at its next public “Coffee & Conversation” community meeting on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

Research has shown that Music has a powerful impact on memory and can be used to address the debilitating impact of Alzheimers and dementia among seniors.

The Coffee & Conversation meetings are held each month from 10 am until 12 noon, with refreshments and snacks. Co-sponsored by Aishling Companion Home Care, the Coffee & Conversation meetings are open and free to residents of the Orland Fire Protection Distirct only.

Aishling will discuss “The Music & Memory” program which has been proven time and time again to take seniors with Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s from a non-responsive state and re-engage them with the world.
