Orland Park trustees host fundraiser Feb. 21

The People Over Politics reform slate of candidates for Orland Park Trustee will host a fundraiser on Thursday Feb. 21, 2019 at the Silver Lake Country Club, 14700 S. 82nd Avenue in Orland Park. Attendance at the fundraiser is FREE and attendees are not required to purchase a ticket or make a donation.

The slate includes Cindy Katsenes, Bill Healy and Michael Milani all veteran Orland Park activists. The trio was thrown off the ballot in a political move by Orland Park Village Clerk John Mehalek and Trustee Kathy Fenton, allies of the opposition slate headed by Carole Griffin Ruzich. But a Cook County judge ridiculed that politically motivated decision and ordered the village to return them to the ballot.

The ruling was an embarrassment for the rivals and angered many Orland Park residents. Mehalek and Fenton intended to deny voters of Orland Park their constitutional right to chose their own representatives.

The election is Tuesday, April 2, 2019.
